Hello and welcome to AnimeVideos.net.

To start this “About” page off right, I thought I’d start with a bit of a disclaimer. While it should be apparent to most everyone, AnimeVideos.net is a FAN SITE. That means my site is not affiliated with, owned by, or in any way involved with anyone in the Anime industry. I’m pretty sure most of you could tell right away this isn’t an “Official” website. For those of you that might have missed it kudos goes out to WordPress.org and Wired Studios. I have used their work in creating this site and felt they deserved mention here. Overall I think the site design turned out great and I couldn’t have done it on my own. FYI, Niether WordPress nor WiredStudios are affiliated with AnimeVideos.net.

As is customary of a “fan site,” some images, clips, ect that you find here may be derivative from copywright works. Nothing used on this site was done with the intent to defame or detract from the copywright. You will not find any full length streaming anime episodes on AnimeVideos.net. The intent of this site is to promote the authors original work, not to detract from it. That said I welcome comments and criticizm from copywright holders should they find something on AnimeVideos.net disagreeable. Whois contact information for this site is valid and I will dilligently follow up with valid comments or complaints.

About me (the author)
At the time of this writing I have been an anime fan for at least ten years. My own personal collection is nearing 1000 DVD’s and I also have access to my younger brothers collection. The poor kid picked up the habbit from me and now his DVD collection dwarfs my own. From a literary perspective there really isn’t much that qualifys me to be an anime reviewer. However from an otaku’s perspective I think I’m as good as anyone. I have a bit of a perverse love for the more twisted and obscene as opposed to the intolerably cute. You may find my reviews scale to be slanted slightly twards more mature rated titles.

All of the reviews labeled “my review” represent my own personal oppinion about a given anime series. You can find details of how my grading scale works here. Admittedly its more of an art than a science. Also I should take a moment to point out that I’m a terrible writer. You deserve points for even bothering to read a review I wrote. At present all of the reviews on AnimeVideos.net are my own, but I may in the future allow someone else to write for this site. I know just how bad my writing is…

About the domain name AnimeVideos.net
When I saw the name AnimeVideos.net come up for sale I bought it on an impulse. I just saw the name and had to have it. You don’t even want to know how much I paid for it. Thats either the mark of a fool or a fan. (You can decide…) In order to recoup some of the tremendous cost of the domain name I have decided to put adverts on some parts of this site. If you want to help support this site it is appreciated if you buy something. Truth be told this domain isn’t likely to recoup my investment inside of 200 years. Still if you like the site I appreciate you spending a few bucks here. If nothing else it will help support my anime habit.

I’ve made a number of attempts to build a website over the years. Remnants of some of them still exist scattered about the web. I count each attempt as a failure and upon examining why two things come to light. One is that maintaining webpages, linking them together, and building a system where adding new ones is manageable has been tedious until now. I belive Wordpress will help me overcome that hurdle. The other failing has been my lack of interest. I’ve had a number of hobbies over the years from elecronics, robotics, metal casting, woodworking, ect. All of which I eventually got bored with. Anime is the one hobby I never seem to tire from. I’m hoping my undying interest in anime really makes this site a success.
