Upon writing my first Anime review a few things became apparent. First and foremost is that I can’t spell. But aside from the obvious, I noticed that reading back what I wrote didn’t always give the impression I wanted. While I may really like a series I may tend to dwell on the negative a bit too much and that could make it seem as if I disliked the show. Sadly Its just easier for me to notice the things I don’t like. I decided that my reviews needed to have a scale and I needed to define exactly what that scale means. In order to keep things just vague enought to be useful I decided on a 1 to 5 scale. Since I do things just a bit differently from everyone else it is worth reading exactly what the ratings mean.

A 5 star rating means I would actively reccomend this anime. If we were standing around talking about anime and you asked me to suggest a show you should buy, I would reccomend one off my five star list. It means I liked the show and I don’t see any reason why someone else wouldn’t like it.

A 4 star rating means I would reccomend this anime. If we were standing around talking about anime and you asked me if I thought you should buy this title I would say yes. Its not one I would think of to reccomend, but assuming it looks interesting to you it is worth buying. Four stars means I liked the show but I can clearly see why some people might not like it. It would only be reccomended to people who show an interest in it.

A 3 star rating means I don’t have a strong oppinion on this anime. If we were standing around talking about anime and you asked me if I thought you should buy this title I wouldn’t try to influence your decision. Most likely its average and did little to set itself apart from the thousands of other anime titles out there. I probably only vaguely remember watching it, as it was easily forgettable.

A 2 star rating means I would not reccomend this anime. If we were standing around talking about anime and you asked me if I thought you should buy this title I would say no rent it instead. I would likely reccomend a title in a similar genre that you would find more interesting. Two stars may not really be a bad show, but on a limited budget there’s bound to be something better to spend your money on.

A 1 star rating means this anime is terrible. It likely has no plot or one that isn’t coherent. If the same animation sequence is reused dozens of times in a half hour episode it will likely be confined to the 1 star list. If we were standing around talking about anime and you asked me if I thought you should buy this title I would actively try to persuade you not to. At present, and for some time to come, you are not likely to find any 1 star anime reviewed here. It takes a while to write a review, upload the pages, and make everything look just right. Unless I hit the bottom of the barrel I have plenty of other anime I could spend my time reviewing so I don’t plan on spending much time on these.
